Top 5 nights out in Manchester

Daniel Riley February 19th, 2018

Manchester matches its great size with an even greater variety of nights out. It can take you from derelict mansions to classy student nights, wherever you decide to go, you are guaranteed a good time

If you are struggling to choose, here are just 5 of our recommendations for a fantastic night out.

Antwerp

We begin with Antwerp which is located in what used to be a mansion but is now a derelict pseudo-nightclub. If that does not intrigue you enough, Antwerp notoriously hosts some of the weirdest and wildest nights out that the city has to offer. The main music genres are Techno and Hip Hop but there is a bit of a mix of everything. If you are looking to get down and dirty on a night out, and then emerge from the club on the famous Curry Mile, then Antwerp is your place!

Warehouse Project

Warehouse Project (WHP) is often considered the king of all nights out in Manchester (in most other major cities too, actually) and it is little wonder why. WHP runs weekly and is host to some of the biggest names in dance/grime/bassline for frequent star-studded line-ups. The event is hosted through a viaduct under Piccadilly train station providing underground parties like no other!

Ark Fridays/Hotmess Wednesdays

With both events located at the same venue, you want to make sure that you are down Deansgate Locks in the centre of town on Wednesday and Fridays. Make sure you dress to impress as these events are as classy as they get for student nights! Despite the dress code being fairly strict, the drinks inside are extremely reasonably priced. Hip Hop and RnB are the main vibes here so you can be sure to a very chilled and enjoyable night out.

Hidden

Hidden hosts a variety of high-profile, one-off events all year round and is certainly not one to miss. Classed as possibly the most effortlessly cool venue in town, there is no dress code, the prices are very decent and best of all there is a high range of music and atmosphere depending on the event of your choosing; so get picking the right one and you won’t want to miss another night out at Hidden!

Factory

Factory is known as THE student night-out in Manchester. Open most days of the week, student prices and three floors of great music – it’s no wonder that this place is so popular with students. Situated at the old Factory Record Offices, the first floor of Factory is mainstream Pop and Hip Hop so get ready for some chart music. The second floor features cheesy oldies and Indie Rock whereas the third floor is perfect for anyone crazy about Techno and Bassline music. There really is something for every taste here!
