A meal out is often seen as a luxury to students. However it doesn't have to be. In Newcastle there are loads of great spots to pick up some great food at affordable prices. Picking just 5 was a challenge, but here we go...

1) Prima Pasta

Prima is the biggest pizzeria in Newcastle, set in an iconic location directly underneath the old railway bridge. Serving up delicious pizza, pasta and steaks, it’s the ideal choice for a cheap and cheerful lunch or a lively night out with friends. A happy hour menu is available daily until 7pm on weekdays and cocktails are two for one all day Sunday to Friday.

2) Hei Hei

Voted one of the best Chinese restaurants in the North East the Hei Hei is a modern, friendly restaurant offering a fine selection of traditional and contemporary dishes. The Hei Hei is vegan and vegetarian friendly and the menu includes a great value daily happy hour selection.


3) Pizzeria Francesca

 

Commonly known as Francesca's this Italian is famous with Newcastle's student community. It offers great food at easily affordable prices. and is located at the heart of the student hub of Jesmond. While you are there be sure to check out the famous half pizza half pasta dishes on offer that come in at just £8.40

4) Cabana brazilian barbecue

Sample the tastes of Rio with a delicious selection of street food, freshly grilled skewers and half price cocktails. Cabana is fun, fresh and modern and makes for a great night out with friends. With regular offers and treats available this is a great favourite with students.

5) Za Za Bazaar

Za Za Bazaar is an all you can eat buffet with tastes from around the world.
