The Economic Benefit of International Students

Sheffield has been revealed as the UK's biggest economic beneficiary from international students in a report commissioned by London Economics

A new study has indicated that international students are worth as much as £2bn to the UK economy.This is not only through tuition fees, but also their spending on the local economy. Whether this be on student accommodation, cafes, taxis, nightlife or in retail.

The report shows that overseas students are a significant benefit and that students from outside the European Union, who pay higher fees, are worth £102,000 each to the UK economy.

  7. Liverpool, Riverside
